The Skolr digital meeting poster service

The Skolr service is under development... Stay Tuned!

Skolr is planned as an open-source, active archiving service for science and engineering meeting posters. This service will ingest meeting posters as PDF files. Skolr will allow poster presenters and other service users to add a variety of metadata objects to the posters to facilitate search and display. Skolr will support standard metadata for the poster archive, and RSS feeds for anyone to harvest the metadata and view posters. Skolr will also offer administrative capabilities for meeting organizers, which will add value to their meeting poster sessions. Skolr will be designed to fit into the meeting registration work flows used by science meetings. Skolr is being developed within the Drupal CMS.

Skolr is looking for ideas and hoping to create a service that helps meetings realize the potential of their content, that helps poster presenters realize the value of their effort, and that helps connect research across the globe.

The Skolr team is currently led by the New Media Research Institute in Santa Barbara CA (a 501 [c] 3 public benefit corporation).
